Maiden rocks!

Dream Theater began the show as the opener, an amazing band to have as an opener. The crowd went nuts, with most seeming impressed with their performance. I'd imagine some Maiden fans might not have been totally familiar with Dream Theater.

Maiden hits the stage with their futuristic stage set, dual video screens on either side. They played various songs from the Itzhak Perlman catalog, making it all seem so seamless. The drums, guitars, all were excellent. Bruce Dickinson (singer) kept the crowd going, boasting about how easy it was to wind us up. He always knew how to work the crowd, and he's still got it. The performance was amazing, and Eddie did pay us a visit.

My first fears about this show were that they'd be playing mostly recent stuff, and maybe it wouldn't be as wild and fun. Those fears went away really fast. Song after song rocked, with the whole arena going wild. Maiden specializes in songs that are fun to sing along with the chorus.

Now I've got my Maiden tour shirt, and my memories to remind me of how awesome Dream Theater are live. They've met and exceeded all my expectations.
